hacking IKEA / publication design
This book was created to be a visual representation of an audio experience. The copy for the book was the transcript from a podcast talking about people who "hack" IKEA furniture. The book was packaged in an IKEA box with instructions and supplies so that it could be assembled, and then hacked, like a piece of IKEA furniture. The pages are Japanese folded, and then the folded edges are perforated. Because of this, as the reader goes through the book they are able to tear the edges and create an entirely new reading experience for themselves and any future readers.
